What follows are the stories of Naruto: Karasuden (Crow Chronicles), Part Three, taking place shortly after the Gokage Summit in Tetsu no Kuni (The Land of Iron) and ending during the first day of the Fourth Great Shinobi World War.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

-Episode Thirteen: A month or more has passed since Ritoru's capture by Umeboshi Kokushu of Kirigakure. Since the beginning of his imprisonment, he has been pitted against the Jinchuuriki-Modoki Tamamo Ikasuki and Numachi Nikkei over a dozen times, leaving him exhausted and injured. Cared for by Senkou, Kokushu's research assistant and the younger sister of Enjiiro-- who Ritoru had previously killed-- the captured Kumo-nin has been slowly provoking her over the course of weeks until, in a fit of rage, she releases his bindings to teach him a lesson in combat. Taking advantage of this long-awaited opportunity, Ritoru escapes into the night, and Kokushu, not wanting to reveal his secrets to the Mizukage or her aides, dispatches Nikkei and Ikasuki to capture him. In the midst of their forest battle, however, the Jinchuuriki-Modoki are intercepted by a Kumo Retrieval Squad consisting of Makumo Furan, Kayaku Kei, Kageri Shiro and Katai. After Ritoru's disappearance, his former pupils discovered their sensei's whereabouts by means of some illegal investigations in the Cloud's Administrative Center and, against the Raikage's orders, went to rescue him. Neither party wanting to draw attention to themselves, both Kiri and Kumo-nin retreat to their respective villages, saving their battle for another day.

-Episode Fourteen: Hospitalized upon his return to Kumogakure, Ritoru discovers that the Raikage, escorted by Shii and Darui, had departed for a meeting of the Gokage in Tetsu no Kuni some day before and that word had already been sent back that war had been declared by the leader of the Akatsuki, a man claiming to be the legendary Uchiha Madara. As a result of this, the Five Great Villages have formed an unprecedented alliance with the Samurai of Tetsu no Kuni to combat this threat and fight as a single unit in the soon-approaching Fourth Great Shinobi World War, placing Kumogakure into a state of high alert. Because of the deployment of the village's primary shinobi forces to the battlefield, Ritoru's father, Sonzoku, reveals while visiting his son in the hospital that a homeland defense division has been formed by the Jounin Council and is to be overseen by himself, Military Academy Headmaster Ruuhei-sensei, Intelligence Division Chief Kageri Senrei and Makumo Ichijin, leader of his respective clan. He also states that, if not for the distraction caused by the war, Ritoru's former students would more than likely have received a severe reprimand from the Raikage and perhaps even a demotion for their impromptu rescue mission, but then tells his son that he's pleased that he is back and to rest up. Their battlefield assignments will be ready sooner than they realize.

-Episode Fifteen: The day of the war has arrived. As the Allied Shinobi Forces gather at Kumogakure to prepare for deployment, Ritoru finds himself assigned to the Fifth Division-- the Special Battle Division under the command of General Mifune of Tetsu no Kuni-- along with his former student, Kageri Shiro, Katai and some unlikely allies in the form of Numachi Nikkei of Kirigakure and 'Genzou' of Konohagakure. 'Genzou,' having taunted Ritoru in regards to a 'past encounter' during their battle in Yu no Kuni, reveals that, under the guise of a Suna-nin, he had infiltrated Kumogakure many years back and had engaged the Kurotori-nin, who was serving on the village defense force as a teenager. Already tensions are running high in the group but they are temporarily eased as the Force's Regimental Commander, Godaime Kazekage Gaara, makes an impassioned speech which brings unity to the once divided shinobi before giving the order for the army to deploy.

-Episode Sixteen: Shortly into their deployment, the Third Division-- the Short and Mid-Range Battle Division under the command of General Hatake Kakashi-- responds to a request for immediate assistance from the Surprise Attack Division and end up face to face with reincarnated shinobi from the past, including the prior generation of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, by means of a jutsu known as the Edo Tensei. In the midst of this, a battle of explosion-based shinobi takes place as Kayaku Kei and her friend Soseki Mikuri of Kumogakure, along with Genbaku and Suibaku of Iwagakure's Explosion Corps, battle against the revived Munashi Jinpachi, wielder of Shibuki the Blastsword.

-Episode Seventeen: After receiving word from the Intelligence Division of a massive movement of enemy White Zetsu soldiers underground, reinforcements from the Fifth Division, including Ritoru, Shiro, Nikkei and 'Genzou,' are sent to rendezvous with the Second Division to deal with this threat. Along the way, they stumble upon an enemy Edo Tensei Special Ops squad sent to free any previously sealed Edo Tensei Shinobi on the battlefield. The team consists of Enjiiro of Kirigakure, the squad's Fuuinjutsu specialist meant to free their trapped comrades, Uchiha Toritoma of Konohagakure, the squad's Genjutsu specialist meant to ensnare and delay their enemies, and Ritoru's brother Kitsui, the former Shinobi Gashira of Kumogakure and the squadmember responsible for dispatching their enemies. Sending on the rest of their forces, Ritoru and his three comrades agree to stay behind and face the enemy one on one.

-Episode Eighteen: Meanwhile, the Second Division-- the Short-Range Battle Division under the command of General Kitsuchi of Iwagakure-- has been deployed with their reinforcements from the Fifth Division to deal with the White Zetsu army. Among its fighters, Kumogakure shinobi Makumo Furan, Ikai, Kurotori Hisui and the Thunder Brothers Hinode and Hakubo are trapped in a precarious situation, separated from the rest of their division. In a last ditch effort, Furan sacrifices herself to allow her friends to escape saying that she was overdue in joining her deceased squadmates, Tii and Yotsuki Kagetsu, in the afterlife and takes out over fifty White Zetsu in a massively destructive Fuuton ninjutsu of her own devising.

Decided to work this up this afternoon to let off a little stress.

We finally reach the events of the Fourth Great Shinobi World War and the battles that ensue, though for now see only the conclusion of one.

Part Four will probably be posted once the War arc in the manga draws to a close, but should still be exciting as we see more battles happening behind the scenes!
