Like many young Travelers, Del-Mar had a love for grand dreams of starship dogfights, grand warriors with even grander causes and of seeing the wider galaxy that lied abroad. As he grew older, his passions grew in on more grounded things, but his love of space and travel remained. In fact, in early adulthood as a starship mechanic on his home city ship, he decided what he wanted to do with his life...he wanted to build a better starship.

At the age of 22, Del-Mar entered university to study mechnical engineering and starship mechanics, in his spare time working on what would become his first starship concept. When he graduated several years later and had thoroughly refined his design, he pitched it to several manufacturing firms on Mechalin X. In the beginning, he was continually rejected and, eventually, wasn't even allowed audience. After his last rejection and near depression, Del-Mar went to a local bar and had a drink, carrying his designs with him. While sitting at the bar, a man approached him, spying the papers beside his stool and the young man's sullen look and asked what was wrong. After recounting his tale, the man asked to see Del-Mar's designs, to which he begrudgingly obliged. Studying them carefully, the man congratulated him on having come up with such a cost efficient and innovative design before introducing himself as Cho Gandwana, president of Tancer Spacetronics Industries, and asking the young Traveler to stop by his office the next morning so that they could talk business.

When he arrived the next day, Del-Mar was surprised to find a contract already waiting for him on Mr. Gandwana's desk. According to what he read, Tancer Spacetronics wanted to purchase his design for the Gotan-Class Cruiser and employ him as one of their designers. He, of course, agreed and signed on immediately.

Over the next thirty years, Del-Mar would prove him a capable worker, going from designer to chief designer to management and eventually as Mr. Gandwana's vice-president. By this time, the 52-year-old Traveler had thoroughly gained Gandwana's trust as a capable administrator, a brilliant designer and a good friend, so when he finally decided to announce his retirement, he confidently approved of Del-Mar to be his successor and, when it was suggested the company's name be changed to DelMar Spacetronics, Gandwana gave his whole-hearted supported.

Today, DelMar Spacetronics Industries is the top producers of starships in wild space, known for, besides the Gotan-class, the reliable Muk'tar-class Transport and is soon to release it luxury, high-speed Tancer-class Star Yacht.

Besides Del-Mar as the company's president and CEO, he chose an Veridian executive from development, Teltal Morba, to serve as his Vice-President, and one of the company's chief accountants, a Mustelan by the name of Itatsi, as their Chief Financial Officer, completing their central power base.
